The section from Foshan West Railway Station (FWRS) to Guangzhou South Railway Station on the Pearl River Delta intercity Guangfo Loop Line will be completed and put into use this year. The Nanbei Dachong Bridge of the Pearl River Delta intercity railway connects Foshan urban area Jihua Road. Recently, the arch ribs of this large tied-arch bridge successfully close together, which symbolizes the completion of the biggest difficult project of Guangfo Loop Line in safety risk.
It is estimated that all process construction of the tied-arch bridge will be completed at the end of April.
This is part of the project from FWRS to Guangzhou South Railway Station on the Pearl River Delta intercity Guangfo Loop Line. This section starts from FWRS, passing by Nanhai district, Chancheng district, Shunde district in Foshan and Panyu district in Guangzhou with a length of 35 kilometers. There are 6 stations along the line, including Foshan West Railway Station, Zhacha Station, Foshan New City Station, Beijiao Station, Chencun Station and Guangzhou South Railway Station. According to the latest plan, it will be completed and begin operation this year. It takes about 10 minutes to go from Foshan West Station to Guangzhou South Railway Station.
Guangfo Loop Line (from FWRS to Guangzhou South Railway Station)
Guangfo Loop Line is a core part of the Pearl River Delta intercity network “three loop lines and eight intercity lines” and the intercity line of Guangfo city, which connects with many external transportation junctions such as FWRS, Guangzhou South Railway Station, Baiyun International Airport and Guangzhou North Railway Station.
Besides, the section from FWRS to Guangzhou North Railway Station passes by Shishan, Lishui, Tanbu and Jianggao. The construction period of this project is from 2018 to 2022. Once in operation, it takes about 30 minutes from FWRS to Guangzhou North Railway Station, which realizes the one-line interconnection between Nanhai district in Foshan and Huadu and Baiyun district in Guangzhou, forming an extra-large “inner ring” of railway lines in Guangzhou-Foshan metropolis circle.
