Foshan Youngster’s Palace and Foshan University launched a survey to Foshan residents about their reading habits and preferences in different age groups.
The survey says, 35.68% of interviewees keep reading every day.
The team has interviewed almost 300 interviewees in different age groups and most of them are students.
The survey shows, although residents love reading and usually choose to do reading in their spare time, most of them still stay at the stage of shallow reading.
Only 39% of interviewees have deep understanding of the reading.
Also, the team discovered that, most of the interviewees choose the books by interests or they will choose to read lifestyle books.
Besides, more than 20% of the interviewees choose history books and biography books, which shows residents are interested in historical and cultural celebrities. And this is believed to have something to do with Foshan’s profound history culture.
When being asked who they would like to invite to hold a reading fair, interviewees don’t have obvious preferences about the answer.
The interviewees indicated that they would like to share the fun of reading with all kinds of people.
It is worth mentioning that, with the recent development of Internet technology, residents show more preference to e-reading owing to its convenience, rapidness and timeliness.
E-reading has already been popularized in Foshan, and online listening to books also becomes a new trend.
87.97% of interviewees show willingness to do online listening to books, survey says.
