Foshan China 2020-02-10
On the afternoon of February 7, a dark-skinned foreigner wearing a mask, a blue-green hoodie and dark blue jeans quietly walked up to the police station in Haibei Community, Huangqi, Nanhai District, Foshan.
"After he came to the window of the gatehouse, he suddenly took out of the pocket two folded pieces of paper, put them on the desk, raised his right hand to gesture to me, and said in Chinese that was not very fluent:"this is what I want to do for China. We are together."Wu Jinsheng, the guard in the gatehouse said, "I wanted to ask more about it, but he quickly turned around and went away."
The guard immediately reported to the police. Later, police Ou Zongren found 500 yuan in the two pieces of paper, on which words were written on them. One note was written in Chinese:"We are together.I am a foreign student and I come from Africa. I am a student with no income, otherwise I can do more. But I think you can use the little money to save some lives. This is my support to the Chinese people's fight against coronavirus".The other note was written in English:"I can't write good Chinese,I hope you can understand it. This is my little support to China in war against coronavirus.I love China." Brief words revealed a warm heart and borderless love.
At present, China is at a critical stage in the fight against pneumonia caused by novel coronavirus. People all over the country are united in their efforts to defeat the epidemic with concrete actions. Many foreign friends also care about and support China's epidemic prevention and control work in different ways, which demonstrates a high spirit of "fighting against epidemic with no border".
"As a Chinese, I was really moved by the warmhearted gesture of this strange foreign friend," said Ou Zongren. "Although we don't know his name, we are very grateful to him and admire his kindness in the face of the epidemic."
