On October 21, the 2020 Dutch Days series event “Hydrogen Bus Experience Tour” cum Hydrogen Industry Government-Enterprise Round-table Conference was held in Xianhu Hydrogen Valley, Nanhai District, to promote Foshan, China establish exchange and cooperation in the development of hydrogen energy and environmental protection with Netherlands.

The event invited the Dutch delegation to visit the key hydrogen enterprises in Nanhai represented by the Nanhai Ruihui Hydrogen Station and Guangdong Cemt. Co., Ltd during the hydrogen bus tour.
Dutch Days is an annual series of activities organized by the the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China to promote cultural and economic exchange and cooperation between China and Netherlands. The activities last from September to October this year, featured by "Sustainable Living, We Care, We Share." Bart Pauwels, Counselor of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, believes that this year's Dutch Days feature coincides with the goal of the 2020 UNDP Hydrogen Industry Conference in Nanhai. Taking this opportunity to understand the current status and future development trends of Foshan, China's hydrogen energy industry, the Netherlands side hopes to promote cooperation and exchange between the Netherlands and Chinese hydrogen enterprises.

"Foshan keeps surprising us with its fast developments, in many different aspects, but especially in Nanhai district with the Hydrogen plans and related developments." The Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Guangzhou, Michiel Bierkens, said that the 2020 Dutch Days series event “Hydrogen Bus Experience Tour” held in Xianhu Hydrogen Valley reflects the common environmental protection concept and industrial development needs of the Chinese and Dutch people. It is hoped that the friendship between the two countries can be further consolidated and cooperation in the hydrogen energy industry can be deepened.

It is reported that China is the world’s largest hydrogen producer based with a rich hydrogen energy foundation; Foshan makes a key breakthrough in 2020 in hydrogen industry and strives to turn Xianhu Hydrogen Valley into an internationally renowned hydrogen energy technology pioneering zone while hydrogen projects such as battery logistics vehicles and buses, and hydrogen rail transit lines have been steadily promoted and operated. Netherlands also launched Europe's largest hydrogen project this year and took the lead in issuing national hydrogen energy policy, whose innovative technologies remains at the forefront of the world as a pioneer in the development of the global hydrogen industry. The most important part of Netherlands hydrogen strategy is to position hydrogen as a new zero-carbon energy carrier, which plays a vital role in Netherlands' commitment to reduce carbon dioxide levels by 49% in 2030 from the 1990 levels, and reducing emissions by 95% by 2050.
