On March 21st, the National Famous Brand Demonstration Area & 2016 Regional Brand Value Conference was held in Beijing. Foshan Ceramic, Nanhai Aluminum Products, Nanhai Semiconductor Lighting, Yanbu Underwear and Xiqiao Textile ranked top one hundred on the list of regional brand value evaluation in China. Nanhai district is the county-level area with most regional brands on the list.
Launched in 2015, this value evaluation is conducted by China Quality Certification Center that is delegated by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China. It is the most authoritative and influential ranking list of regional brand value in China.
The brand values of Foshan Ceramic, Nanhai Aluminum products, Nanhai Semiconductor Lighting and Yanbu Underwear are 42.96 billion yuan ($6.24 billion), 16.23 billion yuan ($2.36 billion), 9.52 billion yuan ($1.38 billion) and 6.59 billion yuan ($956.04 million) respectively. The gross value of these four brands is about 75.3 billion yuan ($10.93 billion), rising about 20% compared with 2015. Xiqiao Textile was newly selected this year with a brand valuation of 2.77 billion yuan ($401.67 million). The gross valuation of these five brands in Nanhai is 78.06 billion yuan ($11.33 billion). Nanhai becomes the county-level area with the highest degree of aggregation of famous brand demonstration area. It is worth mentioning that Foshan ceramic ranks the fourth on the ranking list of manufacturing regional brand value.
So far, there are nine “national famous brand demonstration areas” established in Foshan (Nanhai Aluminum Products, Foshan Ceramic, Zhangcha Knitting, Nanhai Semiconductor Lighting, Yanbu Underwear, Foshan Power Supply, Beijiao Household Appliances Supporting Industry, Gaoming Artificial and Synthetic Leather and Sanshui Ceramic Machinery). The number of demonstration areas ranks first among prefecture-level cities in China.
At the conference, as the representative of national manufacturing industrial park, Xian Fulan deputy governor of Nanhai district shared experience of regional brand establishment. She said that besides setting up quality award of district government, Nanhai expanded the brand influence through platform construction, investing a fund of about160 million yuan ($23.23 million) in rewarding and supporting the development of standards and brands in recent three years.
Driven by brand demonstration area, the economic strength of Nanhai has improved greatly and the development of industrial clusters has achieved remarkable effect: the demonstration area of underwear brands has become the underwear aggregation with most mid- and high-end brands in China. The number of aggregation brands increases to more than 140. The demonstration area of semiconductor lighting gathers hundreds of upstream and downstream companies, rising 25% of annual average output value on a year-on-year basis. The demonstration area of aluminum profiles has a great economic improvement. The output value has reached 60 billion yuan ($8.71 billion), which takes up 25% of the national output value.
A convention of “set up standards, improve quality, create brands” will be held in Nanhai at the end of this month, pushing the economic development of Nanhai to an age of quality.
