On January 12th, the Foodom Robot created by the Catering Group of Country Garden officially opened at Mall of the World Plaza, Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou. The robot chefs have made its first debut for frying, stir-frying, braising and all kinds of cooking skills.
Thousands of repetitions comes the steady restoration of the craftsmanship of Shunde master chefs
At Foodom Robotic Restaurant, there are various of robot chefs who are capable of making different kinds of dishes, such as robots specialized stir-frying and deep-frying which can make fry-chicken nuggets, Ju’an Fish Cake, as well as robot chef which can do bubble teas, ice-creams and even mixed drinks or cocktails. Those robots chefs are capable of making fast production. For instance, a burger will only take 90 seconds from order to ready-to-go, which make the customers to have the fresh and hot food as soon as possible.
In addition, the restaurant is also featured with wok robots, clay pot rice robots who specialized in stir-frying, simmering and braising dishes. In order to make the robots which are capable of stir-frying and making vegetables fresh, the R&D team has tried roughly 2 thousand times to make the standardized Cantonese dishes. The master chief Lin Chaodai has given a mark of 90 to the dishes made by robot chef.
The clay pot rice is one of the specialty of the restaurant. A reporter ordered online and only 20 mins later, a steaming clay pot was really to be served. The slightly sweet sources is paired with cured meat along with the golden crispy rice crust. The clay pot rice made by the robot chef is comparable with the one made by human chef.
The first full-system robotic Chinese restaurant

So far the robot in catering service of china is mainly focusing on the single task including allocations of ingredients, delivery, and welcoming. Foodom robot Chinese Restaurant flagship store has reached great deal of achievement from central kitchen and cold chain transportation to the robotic full-system establishment and operation, which is the first restaurant to achieve this accomplishment.
The built-in central kitchen standardizes the ingredients, including cutting, oiling, scalding, and marinating. The processed ingredients are delivered to the store by cold chain transportation, and the ingredients are placed in the cold storage after the store receives them. The machine cooking equipment automatically picks up the materials from the cold storage according to the customer's order requirements, and automatically and accurately cooks. After the dishes are prepared, the food delivery robot or cloud track system will directly deliver the dishes to the customer's table.
It It is reported that, so far, Country Garden's Robotic Catering Group has set up a R & D and operation team of about 750 people, creating five different product lines including Chinese food, hot pot, fast food, claypot rice and noodle shops. More than 70 devices were developed from the ground up. The Group's Robotics Research Institute integrates high-end professionals in the industry and conducts scientific research cooperation with major universities. Up to now, it has submitted more than 300 patent applications.
After the operation of the robotic catering equipment being fairly developed, it will be then placed in public areas such as in communities, schools, scenic spots, and office buildings freely, greatly expanding the dining space. Qiu Mi, assistant president of Country Garden Group and general manager of Qianxi Robot Catering Group, said that in 2020, robot restaurants will first set foot in cities of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to bring authentic Shunde flavor. In the future, the Robot Claypot Rice Restaurant will refine its mass production plan and expand its stores nationwide.
