Foshan is one of the top 100 foreign trade cities in China. Though utterly challenged by the COVID-19 in terms of personnel, logistics and capital flow, Foshan enterprises still keep on resuming work and production. Since February 10th, many Foshan export-oriented enterprises have steadily resumed work, many of which are fully loaded with orders. In order to fight against the epidemic and guarantee orders, unique methods have been adopted by Foshan foreign trade companies. Take a look!
Galanz accelerated the export of its own brands duringthe epidemic. It is reported that from January to February, the company’s ownbrand exports in the North American market increased by 102% with foreign tradeorders lining up to June. Household appliances such as refrigerators andmicrowave ovens have entered the online and offline retail channels such asAmazon and Wal-Mart.
“Mainstream customers in the North American markethave booked their orders ahead of time in the first half of the year."Rachel, head of the Galanz North American market, said that under the strongpull of independent brands, Galanz's sales in the North American market haveincreased by 16% year-on-year.
Foshan Henglitai Machinery Co., Ltd.
Affected by the epidemic, Henglitai had to shut down early and delay work, which postponed production and delivery.
Before the official resumption of work on February 11, Yang Xue, the general manager of the company, actively communicated with customers about the delayed delivery and rearranged the production plan according to the urgency of the order. It has now been scheduled to May and the first shipment is expected to be issued in March.
Staying still wouldn’t hinder business communication. Henglitai purchased high-end video phone software, connecting each office and point of sells to resolve foreign business negotiations and services.
“The epidemic has affected the company from personnel's business trips, new product recommendations, and fairs participation.", said by Liu Bo, export sales director of the company. The enterprise has canceled the negotiation of orders in 2020 in Korea after the Spring Festival, and is now communicating with customers online by sending emails and samples, and promoting short videos etc., to minimize the impact of the epidemic on business.
In addition to the effective adjustments of enterprises, the government and relevant units also came to help.
From January 30th, the Foshan Council for the Promotion of International Trade will provide Foshan foreign trade companies with free evidence of force majeure of COVID-19, helping companies reduce default losses and maintain corporate reputation.
On March 2nd, "Several Policies and Measures addressed by Foshan Municipal Bureau of Commerce to Support the Stable Development of Enterprises to Resume Work and Production in Response to the Epidemic" was promulgated, supporting the orderly restoration and resumption of production to minimize the impact of the epidemic with 26 measures from eight major aspects.
The Foshan Customs Office in Nanhai adjusted measures to different emergencies for the enterprises in the district, solving problems by delaying the application, post-procedure, online application, and special examination.
Going hand in hand to overcome difficulties, we can do it!
