Nanhai Neo-Public Transportation System vehicles debugged
On December 20, the launching ceremony of vehicle debugging in the testing section of Nanhai Neo-Public Transportation System was held, so as to strive for the trial operation in the middle of 2021.
It is reported that the construction of Nanhai Neo-Public Transportation System was started in January 2014, with the departure at the Leigang Station of Guangfo Metro located at the intersection of Guilan Road and Xiaping West Road, and the destination at the Linyue West Station of Foshan Metro Line 2 under construction. The railway, with a total length of 13.34 kilometers and 13 stations, is planned to extend about 3 kilometers eastwards and directly connect to Guangzhou South Railway Station. The third generation of 100% low-floor modern electric train, which is the most advanced in the world, can carry 396 passengers with the maximum capacity of 524 people.
Huang Songhua, Deputy District Chief of Nanhai District, said that as a supplement and extension of subway and railway transportation, Nanhai Neo-Public Transportation System is of great significance to help Nanhai comprehensively integrate into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, promote the "hard connectivity" of infrastructure and the "soft connectivity" of mechanism, facilitate the co-urbanization of Guangzhou and Foshan, and realize the sharing of regional passenger transportation hub facilities.
It is reported that the Nanhai Neo-Public Transportation System is currently in the debugging process to verify whether the vehicle system, signal system, communication system, passenger information system and other functions have met the requirements of design and safe operation. In the next stage, the project will promote the scientific and orderly joint debugging and testing.
