On November 16, good news came for those living in Shunde that west extension of Guangzhou Metro Line 7 formally came under trial operation.

Guangzhou Metro system map has been updated earlier this month and now the station names were officially announced. Going from west to east they are Meidi Avenue, Beijiao Park, Meidi, Nanchong, Jinlong, Chencun, Chencunbei and Dazhou.

In the future, Metro Line 7 will interchange with Foshan Metro Line 3, Guangzhou-Foshan Loop Line, Foshan Metro Line 11, Foshan Metro Line 2 and Guangzhou Metro Line 2.

As planned, Metro Line 7 will be running trial operation 24/7 according to the workdays and weekend schedule of the official opening. Among all the stations, the passenger trail section (existing section) starts from Higher Education Mega Center South Station to Guangzhou South Railway Station, non-passenger trail section starts from Meidi Dadao to Guangzhou South Railway Station. According to the the timetable, Metro Line 7 will run back and forth between Guangzhou South Railway Station and Meidi Dadao.

During the trial operation, there will be overall monitoring on the train, continuously improving and optimizing the safety, stability and reliability of each system, and making sufficient preparations for the official opening.
