Foshan's foreign trade data in Q1 shows stability and improvement

According to customs statistics, in the first quarter of 2023, Foshan's imports and exports value exceeded 192.54 billion yuan with a year-on-year increase of 6.2%. Among them, exports value were 168.99 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 8%. This growth rate ranked 5th among the 21 cities in Guangdong and 2nd among the nine cities in Pearl River Delta.



In the first quarter, Shunde's imports and exports value reached 75.97 billion yuan, with an increase of 11.7%. For Nanhai, it was 55.9 billion yuan, with an increase of 8.7%. Chancheng was with 43.99 billion yuan, decreased by 7.3%. Sanshui's import and export volume was 9.4 billion yuan, with an increase of 10.3%. There was 7.28 billion yuan for Gaoming, with an increase of 24.7%.



Imports and exports to ASEAN countries increased significantly. In the first quarter, Foshan's imports and exports to ASEAN countries amounted to 57.12 billion yuan with an increase of 64.6%, driving Foshan's imports and exports volume to increase by 12.4% in the same period. In addition, imports and exports to countries along the Belt and Road and RCEP region also increased by 32.7% and 42% respectively.


Exports of advantageous industries also remarkably rebounded. In the first quarter, Foshan exported 84.14 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, with an increase of 8%. Among them, exports of auto parts exceeded 3 billion yuan, with an increase of 62.2%. Exports of high-tech products exceeded 7.57 billion yuan, with an increase of 17.5%. And exports of labor-intensive products amounted 46.67 billion yuan, with an increase of 1.9%.
