On January 18, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Wandom's Rehabilitation and Aging Industry Technological Innovation Center took place at the Liandong U Valley Shunde International Enterprise Port. With a total investment of 100 million RMB, the project is expected to be operational by 2026, contributing annual tax income of 36 million RMB, with a cumulative tax projection exceeding 100 million RMB from 2024 to 2027.

Situated in Building 8 of the Liandong U Valley Shunde International Enterprise Port, the project is funded by Guangxi Wandom Medical Co., Ltd., with 100 million RMB investment to establish its headquarter and construct a rehabilitation and aging industry innovation base. Anticipated to be completed by 2026, the facility will feature an active medical equipment laboratory and production workshop, passive medical equipment GMP production workshop, design and innovation center, and a rehabilitation and aging industry reception hall.

The enterprise is actively advancing new technologies and applications in the rehabilitation and aging industry, with a particular focus on stroke recovery, pain rehabilitation, sleeping recovery and the early diagnosis and rehabilitation of neurodegenerative conditions such as dementia, and Parkinson's disease.

As the aging society accelerates, the rehabilitation and aging-adapted industries face significant market demand and development opportunities. Chairman Zhai Jianpeng of Wandom Biopharmaceutical (Group) stated that, with the synergistic effects of various favorable factors, Wandom has decided to relocate its headquarters in Lecong, Shunde, and invest in the construction of a production base.

In recent years, Shunde has vigorously developed strategic emerging industries, continually improved the business environment, and focused on attracting outstanding bio-pharmaceutical enterprises which include the SciTech Life Science and Technology Industry Center, Yuntian Bio-Innovation Industry Center, Liandong U Valley, Dongma Intelligent Manufacturing City, and Yiyun International Research and Development Building. Simultaneously, the "chain effect" formed by high-quality medical equipment, enterprises, talents, and industries continues to unfold, giving rise to a burgeoning bio-pharmaceutical and health industry cluster with a production value exceeding 10 billion.

In 2023, the investment in the carrier project of Shunde (Lecong) Bio-Pharmaceutical Industrial Park surpassed 5 billion RMB, bringing together over 25 bio-pharmaceutical enterprises and 30 scientific teams. The bio-pharmaceutical industry achieved a remarkable 100% year-on-year growth in output. Notably, the Nobel laureate Professor Marshall officially established the "Biomedical and Innovative Drug Joint Laboratory" and the "Biomedical and Vaccine New Drug Research Institute" in the region.
