Following the successful conclusion of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China- Africa Cooperation on September 6, the Foshan Foreign Affairs Bureau and the Foshan Commerce Bureau jointly hosted the Foshan-Africa Economic and Trade Exchange Meeting on September 20. The meeting invited consulate officials from 9 African countries to Foshan, aiming to deepen exchanges and cooperation and elevate economic and trade relations between Foshan and African nations to a higher level.
Nearly 60 Foshan Enterprises Engage with African Markets
This event attracted nearly 60 Foshan-based companies from sectors such as home appliances, building materials, furniture, lighting, automotive, photovoltaics, and international transportation. It provided an opportunity for these businesses to engage directly with African consulate officials, exploring business cooperation and trade opportunities.
Consulate officials from 9 African countries, including Ghana, Zambia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Sudan, Mali, Senegal, Angola, and the Republic of Congo, provided detailed introductions to their investment attraction policies and business environments. This allowed Foshan’s enterprises to efficiently gain insights into the policy support and development prospects of their target markets.

Building Multilateral Platforms for Deeper Cooperation
To familiarize the consular officials from African countries with Foshan's advantageous industries, the Foshan Foreign Affairs Bureau and the Foshan Commerce Bureau organized a tour to visit MUST Energy (Guangdong) Tech Co., Ltd. and the Monalisa Smart Home Center, showcasing Foshan's cutting-edge digital technology and mature manufacturing system.

"Through this visit and exchange meeting, I felt the enthusiasm of Foshan enterprises," said Osman, Acting Consul General of the Republic of Sudan in Guangzhou. He revealed that Sudan plans to organize a visit for its enterprises to Foshan in search of more cooperation opportunities. Daniel Mufra Shmuenza, Consul General of the Republic of Zambia in Guangzhou, also expressed that both China and Zambia have open markets and look forward to more effective matchmaking activities that can connect both sides, bringing them closer together for mutual benefit.
