Mandarin Orange, as a symbol of good luck in Chinese culture, can almost be seen in every household in Guangdong during the Spring Festival. Chencun in Shunde District, crown as "Millennium Flower Town", has a history of planting mandarin orange for more than 1,000 years. Nearly 80% of mandarin orange plants sold all over China are from Chencun, the largest planting base for mandarin orange nationwide.

On January 1 in Xianchong Village, Chencun, the 3.8-meter-high “King of Mandarin Orange” was sold for 68,888 yuan. After 6 years of caring, it now is so big that it needs 6 adults holding hands to circle it around.

Reportedly, the money received from this auction will be reserved as benevolent fund to subsidy and assist farmers.
