Recently, 75 pieces of works containing ceramics and traditional Chinese paintings created by two Foshan ceramists named Zeng Li and Zeng Peng, were exhibited in Posio, Finland and showed the charm of Chinese ceramics.
This is the first stop of “China Ceramic Art Exchange Exhibition Tour in Switzerland, Finland and Spain”, which is one of 2018 “the Belt and Road Initiative” exchange promotion projects subsidized by China National Arts Fund. The exhibition observes the traditional ceramic art creation from the perspective of modern people, highlighting the performance of Shiwan ceramic sculpture in contemporary art.
Zeng Peng told reporters that this exhibition displayed 75 works of his brother Zeng Li and himself, including ceramic entity, Chinese paintings and their albums. In order to achieve the “visible, audible, and tangible” communication effect, they interacted with local people and artists in the form of workshops and specific lectures. From August 1st to 11th, Zeng Li and Zeng Peng displayed the condition of creating ceramaics and Chinese paintings in the art gallery. Artists from the UNESCO International Ceramic Union and the Finnish Ceramics Institute watched the exhibition.
Zeng Peng said that those works are appreciated by western artists, who thinks that eastern ceramaics is very mysterious and magical.
Besides, Zeng Li and Zeng Peng donated one of traditional Chinese paintings, which is named Shiwan Old Scene and shows the characteristics of Lingnan, to local arts institution. It is believed by Finnish artists that this piece of painting is historic and more people can have access to learning about eastern ceramic culture.
It is known that the first stop of this exhibition will last until the beginning of October this year in Finland. And the exhibition will also be displayed in Spain and Switzerland next March and August.
