Lion dance is a fusion of martial arts, dance, music and other Han folk elements. It's included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List. As a conventional Chinese folk performance, lion dance has a history of over 2,000 years.
During the performance, two dancers will dress in a lion costume. One waves the head while another waves the body and tail. They coordinate expertly to imitate various moods and actions of lions.
Every time there is a festive holiday or a major event, lion dance would present to enliven the atmosphere. This tradition has been passed down from generation to generation.
