On June 27, the "United Dream, Shared Development" Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Media Tour visited Foshan.

This is the first major event since the establishment of the "Greater Bay Area Media Alliance," which aims to promote media exchanges and mutual learning among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, jointly assisting in the development of the Greater Bay Area. Dozens of journalists visited places like Foshan Ancestral Temple, Lingnan Tiandi, and Nationstar Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., etc.

As a key city in the Greater Bay Area, Foshan has been comprehensively deepening infrastructure connectivity, key sector reform, high-level opening-up, and cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao in recent years. These efforts aim to fully support the Greater Bay Area's connectivity in infrastructure and software. During the tour, media representatives eagerly asked questions about various topics, journalized their observations, and experienced the ancient charm and modern technological brilliance of Foshan.

During their visit to the Foshan Ancestral Temple, the captivating lion dance performance enthralled the group. With the lions leaping high on piles and rolling on the ground to the beat of the drums, the performance drew cheers from the audience. Through the intricate wood carvings, exquisite brick carvings, and vivid ceramic sculptures at the Ancestral Temple, the media group learned about Foshan's development and changes. They also visited the Wong Fei-hong Memorial Hall nearby, trying out martial arts poses and experiencing Foshan's martial arts culture.

At Lingnan Tiandi, well-preserved Lingnan residential buildings house numerous specialty shops, restaurants, and cafes, blending tradition with modernity. This prompted many questions from the journalists, such as "How does Lingnan Tiandi maintain its 'youthful vibe'?" and "What are the development opportunities for young people from Hong Kong and Macao here?" Wen Dechun, Deputy Project Director of Hong Kong-invested Foshan Shui On Land Limited, stated that in addition to a vibrant district integrating tourism, leisure, commerce, and culture, Lingnan Tiandi is also a hotbed for youth entrepreneurship. "We hope to deliver the message that apart from visiting, Foshan is also a great place for young people from Hong Kong and Macao to establish their businesses."

Gu Zhenhui, a journalist from Macao Daily, expressed his interest in the development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area and hoped to gather information on industrial cooperation. Currently, Macao is promoting the development of four key industries: big health, modern finance, high-tech, convention and exhibition commerce, and cultural sports. During this tour, he aimed to understand the cooperation between Foshan and Macao, and after visiting Nationstar Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., he was pleasantly surprised.

As one of the earliest LED manufacturers, Nationstar Optoelectronics is dedicated to the research, development, production, and sales of LEDs and LED application products. Their products are widely used in consumer electronics, home appliances, automobiles, and lighting, with over a thousand patent applications and the first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2019.

Xu Xiaoping, Director and Vice President of Nationstar Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., highlighted the company's technological innovation cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao institutions, such as the Macau University of Science and Technology. He emphasized the hope of attracting more talents from Hong Kong and Macao by releasing talent policies and jointly building practice bases with universities.

After the visit, the media group members expressed their great gains. Yang Sen, Planning Director of Hong Kong Sing Tao News Corporation, remarked: "I am very grateful to the organizers for arranging this interview. The trip to Foshan was eye-opening. Whether it was the ancient Ancestral Temple and Wong Fei-hong Memorial Hall or the innovative and vibrant Lingnan Tiandi and Nationstar Optoelectronics, all showcased Foshan's diverse charm. Particularly, seeing Foshan actively promoting technological innovation while preserving its historical culture is exhilarating."
