During this long Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, Foshan has been consistently in the spotlight nationwide. These exhilarating events have put Foshan on the map and deserve all the credit. Let's take a moment to review the highlights.


01

Foshan "La Liga" sets the city on fire



On the evening of October 5, the 17th Foshan "La Liga" Football League, sponsored by Jianlibao, kicked off its championship battle, with Team Juejun Building Materials clinching the title.



Since the opening of the tournament on August 5, 26 teams from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area have fiercely competed for two months, attracting over one million spectators. The event achieved over 90 million online livestream views and a total media coverage exceeding one billion, setting three "bests" for Foshan's "La Liga": the most participating teams, the highest attendance rate, and the widest coverage.

Chinese-style music energizes the whole city



From October 1 to 3, the Chinese-style Music Carnival (Foshan Station) kicked off at the Foshan Youth Park, drawing in over 80,000 attendees for the performances. 



"Extremely fulfilling!" Numerous young attendees at the event have immersed themselves into the fantastic ambiance. Especially during the evening, with the setting sun and the music playing, the overall experience was even better.

Thrilling dragon boat race creates unprecedented excitement



During the 2023 National Day holiday, a series of magnificent dragon boat events unfolded, including the Jiujiang Town National Day Dragon Boat Music Carnival and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Sanshui•Baini) Five-Person Dragon Boat Open Race.



During the daytime, three dragon boat races were staged in Nanhai, followed by spectacular fireworks displays and a sunset music concert in the evening, adding vibrancy to Nanhai's National Day festivities. The first day of the event attracted approximately 163,000 participants, showcasing the rich and diverse cultural celebrations of Foshan.


On October 1, with the sound of drums and the buzz filling the air, 128 dragon boat teams with over 600 paddlers, vigorously paddled and competed in Baini Town, Sanshui, creating a thrilling "water marathon" of speed and passion.

Vibrant Lingnan style ignites Foshan


On October 1, 2023, the spirited "Most Dazzling Lingnan Style" National Day Parade took place in Shunfeng Mountain Park, Shunde. Performances including Shunde's intangible cultural heritage lion dance, Cantonese opera, Hongquan martial arts, and traditional dances by Miao people from Taijiang County, Guizhou Province. Tens of thousands of local residents and tourists gathered to celebrate the National Day together.

Dazzling fireworks staged in Foshan



On the night of September 29, the Mid-Autumn Festival, a fabulous fireworks carnival was staged at Phase II of Minghu Park in Gaoming District, creating a magnificent and beautiful scene in the city.
