On February 22nd, the main structure of Guangfo Grand Bridge was completed, which stands 100.5 meters in height. It marks a major progress for this major linking project between Guangzhou and Foshan.

Guangfo Grand Bridge (Phase I) connects Nanhai in Foshan and Datansha Island in Guangzhou, whose construction started on December 25, 2020. It starts from Jianshe Avenue, Nanhai District, Foshan, and accesses Datansha Island from west to east, and leads to Baisha River Bridge across Baisha River, with a total length of about 1.3km. The designed speed of the main line reaches 60km/h, and the main bridge has 6 two-way lanes.

By now, ground-laying construction for Guangfo Grand Bridge (Phase I) has been done, and the facility is scheduled to finish in March 2024. It serves as an important linkage between the two cities, as it helps relieve the heavy traffic flow on Jinshazhou Bridge.
