On the evening of August 21, Jun'an Town in Shunde captivated a massive crowd of over ten thousand people with a culturally vibrant Qixi Festival for Self-Combing Women, showcasing the unique "Jun'an-style romance" and bringing everyone together in Jun'an on the eve of the Qixi Festival.



With the countdown of "5, 4, 3, 2, 1", the guests held water bottles and slowly poured water into the props. Romantic petals gracefully descended from above, symbolizing the commencement of the 6th Jun'an Town Self-combing Women Qixi Cultural Festival. Additionally, a range of captivating performances also kicked off on the spot.



Master Chen Guang, the inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage "Dragon Boat Rap", presented "Qixi's New Civilization" with his distinctive vocal style characterized by short and rhythmic phrases. His performance was highly engaging, creating a vibrant atmosphere.



Apart from the splendid evening gala, the night-time folk art market and the performance stage outside the venue were also bustling and filled with excitement.



The market was organized in the form of a "night bazaar," featuring a blend of traditional folk crafts and innovative handmade products from local artisans in Jun'an and artisans from different areas of Shunde. Thousands of citizens strolled in the night market and immersed themselves in the enchanting world of traditional folk crafts.


Jun'an Town Self-combing Women Qixi Cultural Festival, blending the "Self-combing Women Culture" and the unique custom of Qixi, has become a significant cultural tourism event in Jun'an. It has played a vital role in promoting rural development, preserving traditional culture, and enhancing the local heritage.



The Self-combing Women Qixi Cultural Festival is held from August 20 to 22. "It showcases a blend of traditional customs, intangible cultural heritage, themed study tours, and rural arts, allowing participants to experience the unique charm of this ancient celebration." said Liu Jingyu, a member of the Jun'an Town Party Committee.
