On July 27, CCID Consulting Research Center released the 2022 Research Report of Urban Economic Development in China and 2022 CCID Top 100 Districts. Three districts in Foshan were on the list, namely Shunde District, Nanhai District and Chancheng District. Among them, Shunde District and Nanhai District were shortlisted in the "top ten" districts, ranking the eighth and the tenth respectively.

Among them, Shunde District ,the eighth place, was surpassed by Shenzhen Baoan District and Guangzhou Huangpu District, dropping two positions comparing with last year. However, Nanhai District has entered "top 10" on the list, up by 2 places than last year. Chancheng District, which entered the top 100 list, also went up by 1 place to 39.

Nanhai has been ranked second in the top 100 districts of national comprehensive strength for many consecutive years. In 2021, the regional GDP of Nanhai reached 356.089 billion yuan, achieving year-on-year growth rate of 8.8%, which is higher than the average national and provincial levels.
