Chengdu-Foshan-Kowloon railways to launch in July

From July 1, the Hong Kong section of the high-speed railway (HSR) will add a long-distance line connecting Sichuan province with three new stations, including Chengdu East, Leshan and Yibin West, providing a daily southbound and northbound train service. From Foshan West Railway Station, people will have direct access to both Chengdu East and Hong Kong West Kowloon.



According to the HSR timetable from July 1, the daily HSR from Chengdu to Hong Kong (train No. G2963) will depart from Chengdu East Railway Station at 8:48 am. After arriving at Zhaoqing East Railway Station, it will pass Sanshui South, Foshan West (17:22), Guangzhou South, Humen and Shenzhen North and finally arrive at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station at 18: 55. The whole journey is about 10 hours (about 1.5 hours from Foshan West to Hong Kong West Kowloon).


In addition, the first railway from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Chengdu East will leave at 10:08 am. After nearly 8-hour running, G2964 tram is expected to arrive at Chengdu East at 19:53. Different from the opposite direction (Chengdu East to Hong Kong West Kowloon), this route will pass through Guangzhou South, Zhaoqing East and other stations. Passengers can purchase tickets according to their needs.


Tickets for railways between Hong Kong West Kowloon and Chengdu East are now on sale. In the future, an new option for travelling will be available to passengers.
