On July 28, the eighth-generation all-new digital golf officially came off the assembly line of FAW-VOLKSWAGEN Automotive Co., Ltd, Foshan Branch. It’s revealed that as the world's first model using the MQB Evo platform, the eighth-generation golf uses a new electrical structure, and it will be officially launched to the market this year.
Mr. Dick, Vice President of FAW-VOLKSWAGEN Automotive Co., Ltd introduced that the eighth-generation all-new digital golf is a masterpiece of the company’s comprehensive embrace of the digital age. It is the first vehicle in the world to adopt the MQB Evo platform and the brand new electrical structure. For the first time, CANFD and on-board ethernet technology are used to promote the function of advanced driving assistant system and vehicle information entertainment system, achieving digital driving experience and more convenient human-computer interaction.
Zhang Shuo, President of FAW-VOLKSWAGEN Automotive Co., Ltd, Foshan Branch said that as an advanced vehicle manufacturing base and digital factory in China, the Foshan Branch has unswervingly carried out digital transformation, and the birth of the all-new digital golf is an important symbol of embracing the digital era.
Yan Haobo, member of the standing committee of the CPC Foshan Municipal Party Committee and secretary of the CPC Nanhai District Party Committee, said that since FAW-VOLKSWAGEN settled in Foshan, Foshan's automobile industry has been driven to achieve rapid development. Currently, a cluster of automobile and core parts production enterprises has been formed in Nanhai District. In the face of the huge impact of the epidemic at the beginning of this year, FAW-VOLKSWAGEN Foshan Branch actively responded, took the lead in resuming work and increased production volume, fully reflecting the responsibility of a leading enterprises.
It’s introduced that the Foshan branch of FAW-VOLKSWAGEN has achieved a total production of 1.9 million vehicles so far. In the first half of this year, FAW-VOLKSWAGEN produced more than 890,000 vehicles, ranking first in domestic passenger car sales.
Foshan is city of manufacturing industry, and also a city of automobile industry, listed as Guangdong’s three major auto prodution bases with Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
