Kang Youwei's Former Residence

Kang Youwei was a famous politician, thinker, social reformer, calligrapher and scholar in Guangxu years Qing dynasty of China. He played an important role in the historical event: WuXu Reform Movement. Kang Youwei was born in Su village,YinHe township, Danzao of Nanhai. His former residence “Salivary Sweet House”, a typical form of rural housing of the pearl river delta - "wok ear houses", originally constructed in mid Qing Dynasty, was the place where KangYou wei had been living from birth to childhood. The layout of the dwelling house is one hall, two galleries and two rooms, covering an area of 81 square meters.The residence has been listed as a national key cultural relics protection units. "Kang youwei culture festival" is a famous annual cultural event held in Danzao town.
