On January 16, the groundbreaking ceremony of Intelligent Manufacturing Base of Guangdong Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (XCMG) was officially held in Danzao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan, which is the largest construction machinery intelligent manufacturing project invested by XCMG outside Jiangsu Province, with a total investment of about 2 billion yuan.

As the top enterprise in Chinas construction machinery industry, the settlement of Guangdong XCMG Intelligent Manufacturing Base in Foshan is a strategic development of XCMG to seize the development opportunity of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and expand the domestic and overseas markets. It will also help Foshan build a trillion-yuan-level equipment manufacturing industry cluster, promote the accelerated construction of Nanhai’s modern industrial system, and create a new highland of advanced manufacturing.

The project, settled in Danzao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan with an investment of 2 billion yuan and a planned area of 177,333 square meters, will build joint factory buildings, testing and delivery venues, and offices, logistics and other supporting facilities, together with 16 intelligent production lines of standard knots, supports and lifting arms, and more than 80 intelligent robots, with the intelligent coverage of main processes exceeding 85%.

It is expected that by the end of 2021, the large-scale Guangdong XCMG Intelligent Manufacturing Base integrating the research and development, manufacture and sales of construction machinery, tower cranes and construction lifts will thrive in Nanhai. After the completion of the project, it can produce more than 5,000 tower cranes and construction elevators each year, with an annual sales revenue of 2.5 to 3 billion yuan.

"The settlement of XCMG in Nanhai, Foshan is based on the bright prospects of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. We have faith in Guangdong and the market in South China, which will further radiate Southeast Asia," said Wang Min, Chairman of XCMG.

For Nanhai, the settlement of the project will introduce the worlds advanced construction machinery intelligent manufacturing technologies to Nanhai, and improve the overall manufacturing capacity of key machinery, major equipment and other high-end complete machinery in Nanhai.
