The rear five stretches (from Sanshan New City Station to Linyue East Station) of Tram Line 1 are under construction. The current civil engineering completed about 66%, rail works about 47%, mechanical and electrical installation works about 40%.

The first section of Line 1 strives to realize underground transfer with Guangfo Metro before the Spring Festival.

It is also reported that Nanhai Tram Line 1 is designed and built with proprietary right of underpasses. After the first phase of the Foshan Metro Line 2 project is opened to operation in the future, it is planned to connect with Linyue West Station, where the Lin Yue Vehicle Segment TOD project is located, realizing the integration of the Foshan Metro Line Network and the Tram Line Network.

Located in the Guangfo junction area, Nanhai Tram line 1 is also expected to achieve rapid convergence with Foshan Metro Line 11, Guangzhou-Foshan-Jiangmen-Zhuhai Intercity Lines and other projects to promote exchanges between Nanhai and the Great Bay Area cities.
