The General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently issued the List of 2021 China Beautiful Leisure Villages and the Qualified Monitoring List of China Beautiful Leisure Villages from 2010 to 2017. Zinan Village in Chancheng District was selected as 2021 China Beautiful Leisure Village. Previously, Fengjian Village in Shunde District was rated as 2020 Chinas Beautiful Leisure Village in 2020. At present, China has two villages on the list.

Located in Nanzhuang, Chancheng District, Zinan Village was built in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, which is a typical mulberry-base-pond in the Pearl River Delta. Ecological park, ancestral temple, Lingnan waterscape, and the newly built "Zinan History academy" are vividly narrating the stories of Zinan Village, carrying the unique "benevolence culture" essence  with Lingnan characteristic.

Under the construction of beautiful villages, in 2016, Zinan Village, in order to change the single channel of collective income relying on land and property rental, promptly put forward the development strategy of “rejuvenating and strengthening the village through culture” and embarked on a road of cultivating the cultural and tourism industry and creating a national 4A level scenic spot.
