On December 27, Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway (hereinafter referred to as the Expressway) Phase 4 has officially been in operation, marking the whole Expressway opens to traffic.

As one of the key construction projects of Guangdong, the Expressway connects Guangzhou, Jiangmen, Zhongshan, and Foshan with a length of 67 kilometers. The former three phases of construction have been in operation in recent years.

Phase 4 of the Expressway is 6 kilometers long, which includes the Xijiang Bridge, which will be used as a combined bridge for railways and expressways.

There are 17 flyovers alongside the Expressway, realizing one interconnected flyover in 4 kilometers, which has connected ten expressways, several national highways, and provincial highways alongside.

This traffic network has connected 12 industrial towns such as Xiaolan, Junan in Guangdong, providing more convenient traffic for regional logistics and labor flows.

With the operation of the whole Expressway, traffic in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will be further enlarged. More options are going to be provided for cities such as Zhongshan, Jiangmen, and the western part of Guangdong. The traffic efficiency from Foshan and Zhongshan to Shenzhen will be further improved.

In the upcoming future, the Expressway will directly link the Lion Ocean Bridge, which will form a new communication channel for industries on both sides of Pearl River.
