Made-in-Gaoming lighted Beijing Winter Olympics opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of Beijing Winter Olympics on February 4 caught the eyes of people around the world. What most people probably do not know is that ACME Industrial Co., Ltd., a company from Gaoming District, Foshan is one of the main suppliers of the event’s lighting equipment.

More than 1500 lighting devices used in the ceremony came from the company. The lights from these made-in-Gaoming devices, together with special multi-dimensional effects presented a vision feast for the audience.

 

According to Huang Dazhe, chairman of the board of ACME, the company provided 1400-watt LED that combines laser beams, patterning, coloring and cutting for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The devices, adopting the innovative high-color-rendering light source system, release color-rich and well-distributed laser beams which can make the lights look more natural and texture-rich, meeting the lighting needs of scene-switching on the stage.

 

ACME settled in Cangjiang Industrial Park

 

The company settled in Cangjiang Industrial Park, Gaoming District in 2011. It combines R&D, design, production and sale in one, providing professional stage lights, audio equipment, LED for commercial use, which are popular among the globe.

 

It means a lot for Made-in-Foshan staging on the Winter Olympics. Design Director of the opening ceremony Sha Xiaolan said in a previous interview that the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 relied much on foreign supplies, whereas all the lighting equipment used in this years ceremony are made in China.

 

ACME has shown its strength in science and technology with its outstanding performance during the Olympic events. The company is now planning to sharpen its competitive edge and increase its market share both at home and abroad.
