On December 10th, another historic leap for Sanlongwan was marked in its history, as the Opening Ceremony of Foshan International Talents Hub (Sanlongwan) (hereinafter referred to “the Hub”), plus Roundtable with Cluster City for Smart Manufacturing, were held in the picturesque Foshan New City. Led by government officials from Foshan, the event brought together German (European) enterprise delegates in Sanlongwan and international high-level talents, opening up a two-way dialogue that links government and enterprises together in the pursuit of a better business prospect.  

"One-stop" services: new definition of talent attraction in Sanlongwan

Overall, Foshan International Talents Hub (Sanlongwan) has three major functions, namely, space for communication, tailored services and resources linking, aiming to foster an international business friendly environment for innovation and entrepreneurship. 

Located on the first floor of the North Tower of Xinbao Plaza, Sanlongwan Science and Technology City, the Hub covers an area of about 400 square meters, designed with three major functional areas (service, display and exchange). It can be later on used as a venue for conferences, roadshows and global talent communications.

Essentially, the Hub stands out with its professional service team, with foreign language proficiency and business background. From now on, a full spectrum of quality services are available for foreign enterprises - registration, location consulting, talent visa, talent landing and corporate growth. For local citizens, they are also accessible to a self-service terminal that offers consulting services. Whenever they have requests for business consulting, talent consulting, and online appointment, the Hub will be their best destination. 

Another selling point of the facility is the Intelligent Library for International Talents, which houses a large volume of books and references in Chinese, English, German and other languages. All the reading materials can be borrowed and returned automatically at other 387 designated libraries in Foshan.

Foreign enterprises: thumbs up for Sanlongwan, high hopes for Foshan

“It has a very good location here and it is very convenient. I was just introduced to these technologies, ways on how you can use just one ID card to do all the business administrative stuffs at just one machine. I am working for a local bio-pharmacy company and Foshan has offered a very good infrastructure. What Foshan is doing to build up its business environment, I think, is just a start for more. We’ll see more investment in the future.” said by Thomas Schroder, Senior Director at the Science and Technology Department of Canton Biologics. 

With high hopes for industrial progression in Foshan, he stressed that his company will land more focus on talent attraction, especially by building a pipeline with local and international universities. As more foreign business start-ups find their way to Foshan, talents are the bloodline of their growth.

Mr. Francisco Del Valle Gracia, the Director of Procurement from Roca China Co. Ltd is one of foreign entrepreneurs experiencing the book lending machine in the exhibited talents hub. “It is convenient and exciting to do everything within one machine, which has shown the great improvement of the smart manufacturing and the infrastructure upgrade of Foshan. We have run our business in Foshan for over 20 years and deeply felt and received strong support and encouragement from the Foshan government. Today’s round table discussion and the experience are signs of a better future of smart manufacturing development in Foshan. 

Foshan Sino-German Industrial Service Zone (Sanlongwan): upgraded bussiness environment and talent/enterprise services on the horizon

Another highlight of the event was the Roundtable with Cluster City for Smart Manufacturing, where officials from Management Committee of Foshan Sino-German Industrial Service Zone (Sanlongwan) introduced business environment from all aspects and the Accompany Project for German SMEs in South China.

Up next, more resources and platforms will be pooled for better bussiness investment and enterprise and talents services.
