The 2024 Foshan New Year Concert is about to meet with citizens at Foshan Qionghua Grand Theater at 8 p.m. on December 31, 2023.

At the end of 1990, the first note of the first Foshan New Year Concert was played, which was a cultural brand activity created by Foshan News and Media Center to ring out with the old year and ring in the New Year. It became the first prefecture-level city New Year concert in China.

The event has been held for 33 consecutive years, which is not only a witness of the progress of Foshan, but also a necessary cultural feast for many Foshan people on New Year's Eve. This year, Foshan News and Media Center continues to join hands with the Guangdong Pearl River Film Orchestra to organize the 2024 Foshan New Year Concert.

Pearl River Film Orchestra is a professional art and film orchestra in Guangdong Province. Founded in 1959, the orchestra has a brilliant history and precious brand value for more than 60 years. It has recorded music for more than 500 domestic and foreign films, TV series, operas, Beijing Operas, and dance drama. Moreover, it has its own brand of original concerts and movie theme concerts.

Performance team:

Conductor: Zhang Zhen, famous young Conductor, Permanent Conductor and Music Director of Pearl River Film Orchestra.

Special guest: Jia Shuanghui, young tenor singer, national first-class actor, deputy head of the department of national voice of Xinghai Conservatory of Music, and graduate supervisor. Former national first-class actor of the soldiers' Art Troupe of the Guangzhou Military Region.

Young mezzo-soprano singer: Cai Jingwen, member of Chinese Musicians Association and the Youth Federation of Guangdong Province, has awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award to Outstanding Musicians of Guangdong Province and won the Golden Bell Award of the 12th China Music Golden Bell Award Vocal (Bel Canto) Competition.

Do you still remember the classic songs and pictures over the past 33 years?

In 1994, the Fourth Foshan New Year Concert invited the famous Chinese tenor Cheng Zhi.

2001 Foshan New Year Concert invited the famous pianist Liu Shikun, who brought a wonderful ensemble.

2003 Foshan New Year Concert, the famous singer Liao Changyong teacher's high-sounding song rang through the audience.

2008 Foshan New Year Concert celebrated birthdays with 18 18-year-old teenagers.

The 2010 New Year concert showed the combination of the Lingnan nursery rhyme "Moonlight Light" and the Western symphony.

In the 2015 Foshan New Year Concert, three famous Italian young tenors and Chinese soprano Tian Hui brought the Chinese folk song "In the Far Place" and other classic songs to the Foshan audience.

In 2017, the Foshan New Year Concert's original "Table Tennis Concerto" stunned the audience a lot.
