In November, Foshan's Customer Price Index (CPI) declined by 0.6% compared with last year's figure. Notably, the food price has declined by 1.1%, in comparison to 0.4% decrease in non-food items. There is a 1.1% decline in the price of consumption goods and 0.3% increase in service.
Compared with last year's figure, the price change of 8 major commodities (service) differs from one another. Referring to the increase in price, other supplies and services, cloth, food, liquor and cigarettes have increased by 1.6%, 1.2% and 0.2% respectively. In comparison, the price for transportation and communication, household products and services, education and entertainment, medical care has declined by 2.8%, 1.4%, 1.2% and 0.2% respectively. Only the accommodation price maintained constant.
Specifically, most food categories have encountered an increase in price, including dry food (7.5%), tuber crops (5.9%), vegetable and mushroom (4.5%), other food (2.5%), cooking oil (2.4%), egg (1.5%), poultry (1.0%), grain (0.6%) and aquatic products (0.5%).
In terms of non-food items, these are categories that have realized price decline: gasoline car (8.2%), early childhood education (8.2%), telephone (7.8%), liquefied petroleum gas (7.7%), diesel (3.3%), gasoline (3.0%) and platinum jewelry (2.8%).
Compared with last month’s figure, the price of most major commodities have declined. The price for transportation and communication, education and entertainment, other supplies and services, food, liquor and cigarette, accommodation have dropped by 1.3%, 0.8%, 0.4%, 0.3% and 0.2% respectively.
