On October 28, on a press conference organized by China Association of Inventions and Foshan Government, the 25th National Exhibition of Invention - Belt and Brics Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition was announced to be staged from December 10 to 12 at Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center in Foshan. Empowered by a brand-new theme this year (Invention and Innovation for self-reliance) (“发明创新，自立自强”), the annual event lands spotlight on strategic scientific and technological capacities and innovation achievements.

Till now, over 1,500 invention and innovation projects have signed up for the exhibition, as backed with an exhibition area of 40,000 square meters. As a large national platform that focuses on Chinas latest technological invention, the exhibition includes 7 exhibition areas (intellectual property rights in national defense, national machinery, metallurgy and building materials, energy conservation and environmental protection, health, youth invention and innovation, GBA Special, comprehensive) and 3 special areas (National High-tech Innovation Achievement Exhibition Area, Intangible Cultural Heritage Wisdom and Innovation Development Area, and Belt and Brics Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition).

The GBA Special is the newest key feature at National Exhibition of Invention, and it houses the major technological breakthroughs from "9+2" GBA cities, which is hoped to enhance industrial coordination and cooperation in the region.
