On December 29, Guangzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission announced on its website the ticket prices for the West Extension of Guangzhou Metro Line 7 (Shunde Section) [hereinafter referred to as "Guangzhou Metro Line 7 (Shunde Section)"]. As detailed in the announcement, pricing is based on the actual mileage of a journey.
Specifically, 2 yuan will be charged within 4 kilometers as the starting fare; between 4 kilometers and 12 kilometers, 1 yuan will be charged for each additional 4 kilometers; between 12 kilometers and 24 kilometers, 1 yuan will be charged for each additional 6 kilometers; up from 24 kilometers, 1 yuan will be charged for every additional 8 kilometers.
Guangzhou Metro Line 7 (Shunde Section), running from east to west, starts from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Meidi Dadao Station in Shunde District. Overall, it has a total length of about 13.4 kilometers (about 11.8 kilometers in Shunde and about 1.6 kilometers in Guangzhou), with 8 stations (Meidi Dadao, Beijiao Park, Midea, Nanchong, Jinlong, Chencun, Chencunbei, and Dazhou) and 1 parking lot at Yifeng Station.
When the line opens, passengers traveling from Meidi Dadao will spend only 2 yuan to Beijiao Park and Midea, 3 yuan to Nanchong and Jinlong, 4 yuan to Chencun, Chencunbei, Dazhou, and 5 yuan to Guangzhou South Railway Station.
