On November 25th, the WISE 2021 "Advanced Experience" - Robotics Summit was held in Shenzhen. Sanlongwan Science and Technology City joined the event and introduced the robotic industry, aiming to tap into more growth potentials.

The summit brought investors, scientists, scholars and entrepreneurs in the robotic sector together, who shared their insights and thoughts on the latest industrial trends, much informative for the attendants. Essential to the event was a speech titled "Robot in Growing Population - Insights on Chinese New Development Dividends from Foshan Manufacturing", by Li Jie, Deputy Director of the Foreign Cooperation Bureau of the Management Committee of Foshan Sino-German Industrial Services Zone (Sanlongwan).

The robotic industry is an important support for transformation and upgrading in manufacturing. As the first designated city in China for a comprehensive reform in manufacturing, Foshan is home to 190,000 manufacturing companies, which have a huge demand for industrial robots. As shown by recent data, the number of robotic company in Foshan has topped 240, an increase of 140% compared to 2015. In 2020, the total output value of robots and intelligent equipment in Foshan has exceeded 90 billion yuan.

"If the past 5 years represents 1.0 version of Foshans robotic industry, then the next 5 years will be its 2.0 version." As Li believes, in the mid or long run, robotic industry in China, including Foshan, is bound to greatly benefit from the growing demand from manufacturing upgrading that have been going on across the nation. Robotic industry has brought forward an era of dividends so far, which is a new driving force for the citys developement in the future.

Sanlongwan Science and Technology City is an important platform that serves upgrading and transformation in local manufacturing industry, as well as a highland for robotics industry that houses leading robot companies such as KUKA, Hans Robot, Bright Dream Robotics, Estun Cruise, and Yinghe. The platform, therefore, has become an area with the most frequent communication between the robotic industry and traditional industries in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Li Jie hoped that through this promotion event, Sanlongwan Science and Technology City will be further built into a platform for investment promotion, for the sake of mutual benefit and win-win development for all parties involved.
