Foshan China 2022-03-15 09:28

Recently, mulberries in Yugeng Yueyun Cultural Tourism Park, which is located in Xiqiao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan, are getting ripped. Accordingly, the 8th Mulberry Festival has started on March 13th, and it is expected to last until the end of the harvest season.

With spring comes, flowers blossom and mulberries ripe

At the south of Xiqiao Mountain, a vast mulberry fish bond is praised as one of the “Ecological Model and Unique Scenes" by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.  Geographically, Yugeng Yueyun Cultural Tourism Park is located at the centre of this bond, with gorgeous scenes of Lingnan water village.

Without cold waves and extensive rain, mulberry is expected to have better sweetness and succulence, in addition to an over 15% increase in the yield.

Besides the delight gained from taste buds, tourists could double their happiness through various activities, including joining the eating competition, making mulberry wines, reeling and dyeing silks, etc.

With time past, beauty remains and culture prevails

As the only type of silks is purely dyed with vegetables, Gambiered Canton Gauze is the “soft gold” in the textile industry and one of the intangible cultural heritages in China. In the park, tourists can join in the production and review the history of the Gambiered Canton Gauze.

Additionally, in the park, there are exhibitions illustrating the implements used in the farming and fishing industry, and the development of the textile industry in the Pearl River Delta Area.

“Apart from the activities above, we have newly introduced a cruise that travels around the park and Ruxi Town nearby”, commented by the representative of Yugeng Yueyun Cultural Tourism Park. Through the innovation and implementation of new projects, the park is expected to become an interactive and pleasant place for excursions.
