To remedy the lack of policies in the operation of Foshan rail transit, the Foshan Bureau of Rail Transit recently announced the original version of Operation and Service Specification for Foshan Rail Transit (hereinafter referred to as “The Specification”) and Passenger regulations of Foshan Rail Transit (hereinafter referred to as “The Regulation”) and sought public advice. The consultation period starts from March 26th to April 7th.
Referring to The Specification, there are seven chapters coving forty rules. Here are some examples.
The Specification requires that rail transit should operate at least 15 hours per day. Considering the passenger flow volume of tramcars is low, the operational period is adjustable accordingly.
To fulfill the demand from local citizens (especially elderly people), it appeals for Cantonese broadcasting. Apart from the medical cabinets both in the station and on the trams, it also appeals for additional first aid equipment like automatic external defibrillators.
In terms of supervision, it states that the operational team should establish certain standards in multiple areas to annually assess service quality and reveal managerial information timely. The result of the assessment is one key criterion to determine the financial allowance.
Besides, it also insists on regulations relevant to pandemic prevention, for instance, sterilization of the atmosphere and the surface of objects, temperature check for every passenger, etc. If passengers refuse to obey these regulations, security officers are entitled to expel them from the station accordingly.
Concerning The Regulation, it contains 23 regulations covering vast areas. Here are some examples.
It states that one adult passenger can bring two kids whose height is below 1.3 meters with him at no cost. If a kid does not reach the school starting age while his height exceeds 1.3 meters, he can still enjoy the free ride with valid identification.
Regarding luggage, it stated that every passenger is allowed to bring luggage; L + W + H dimensions cannot exceed 1.6 meters and the total weight cannot exceed 30 kilograms.
Regarding forbidden items, despite special on-duty animals and guide dogs, no animals are allowed.
In terms of eating, despite infants and patients, individuals are not allowed to eat in the tram.
