As released by Chinas Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on the "Integrated Projects of Agricultural Industry in 2022", Nanhai Modern Agricultural Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as "the Park") has entered the list.

Long reputed for raising freshwater fish, the Park produces multiple quality species - California perch, raw fish, and yellow catfish. Geographically, the Parks span across three major towns in the districts - Jiujiang Town, Xiqiao Town and Danzao Town.

To be backed by more national funding, the Park will be built into a distribution center for freshwater fish, a major production base for pre-made food in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and a standing model for urban-rural integration and rural revitalization.

Nanhai, known for decades of its strong industrial capacity, is actually home to a booming agriculture. In 2021, the Park includes a fish farming area of 71km², generating 166,200 tons in production that leads to 8.45 billion yuan in industrial output.

Home to the world famous Sangyuanwei Polder Embankment System, Nanhai is now fostering more R&D cooperation with research institutes, with more patents, agricultural products and aquatic product brands.

At the moment, the Park is using new biological purification treatment to enhance its water environment, so as to deliver more quality freshwater fish products.
