Stated by Foshan Disease Prevention and Control Center, there have been more hand-foot-mouth disease cases in the city, coming into mid-June. Kids aged below 5-year-old are most susceptible to the disease.

Health experts pointed out that, the disease is easily transmissiable and silent infection is also a main source of transmission. Additionally, excrements from patients may stimulate the spread of disease.

To keep from the disease, apart from daily attention on hygiene, vaccination is additional solution. EV71 vaccination is available to kids aged from 6 months to 5-year-old. Remarkably, it is not recommended for kids over 5-year-old and it belongs to self-paying category.
