Shunde funded with 500 mln yuan to build a life science industrial park

On December 9, a land plot that covers 32326㎡ at Longjiang Yongkou Industrial Zone was sold to two state-owned companies (Shunde City Investment Co. Ltd., and Longjiang Yunjiang Co. Ltd.,), which will be reserved for Longjiang Life Science Industrial Park (Phase II). The project has raked in 500 million yuan of total investment.



The location will gather steam for local biomedical industry in Shunde, as it provides space for biomedical equipment, reagent R&D and medical services.


Locally, bio-medicine industry is a one the five key strategic emerging industries in Shunde District. Long renowned for its booming furniture, building materials industries, Longjiang has been seeking new growth poles in recent years, with bio-medicine industry being one of those.


Phase I Project under use


So far, the first phase of the project has seen tangible progress, as it has been up and running in Longjiang Yongkou Industrial Zone. The first phase project, located in Lelong International Creative City, has reserved room for producing supporting facilities of life science and medical industry from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, as well as manufacturing bases of high-end instruments, consumables and reagents, and advanced diagnosis and treatment technology institutions. Till now, the first phase of the project has introduced 15 life science enterprises and built 12 GMP standard workshops.
