Foshan Metro Line 3 set for operation

From December 9 to 12, the Foshan Metro Line 3 first section (Shunde College to Zhen'an) has met all dynamic detection and debugging requirements. During the evaluation, experts from the countries carried out comprehensive tests on various aspects like construction, communications, electric facilities and fire equipment.

The first section is 40.72 kilometers long with 20 underground stations and 2 elevated stations. There are three interchanged stations, including Wanhua Station for Foshan Metro Line 2, Beijiao Park for Guangzhou Metro Line 7 (Shunde section), and Dongping Station for Guangfo Line.



Starting from Daliang Shunde Port Station in the south to Xianxi Campus Station of the Foshan University in the north, the total length of Line 3 is 69.5 kilometers with 37 stations linking Chancheng, Shunde and Nanhai District. According to the blueprint, passengers can interchange with 13 metro lines via Line 3 in the future. There are 12 stations in Nanhai, namely, Guicheng, Nanhai Plaze (Xiyue), Diejiao, Guidan Road, Foshan Airport, Luocun, Foshan West Railway Station, Xingye Road, Taiping, Shishan, Nanhai University Town and Foshan University.



11 sections of the final section of Foshan Metro Line 3 has already finished double line construction and the remained two sections are undergoing excavation. All 14 stations have been capped, among which 8 stations have been handed over for mechanical and electrical renovation. Next, Foshan Metro will further strive the construction of the north section to fully prepare for the operation.
