Recently, Foshan has unveiled a list of 50 Cantonese opera characteristic schools. Notably, 8 of them are located in Chancheng District, including Hongye Primary School, Foshan No.1 Primary School, Lanshi Primary School, Donghuali Primary School, Zhangcha Central Primary School, Xialang Primary School, Nanzhuang Zinan Kindergarten,and Nanzhuang Aidibao Kindergarten.

Create elegant environment with Cantonese operas

During the listing ceremony held on February 22nd , Tian Yingxue, the principal of Hongye Primary School, emphasized the role of Cantonese operas in promoting aesthetic education and creating an elegant school environment.

Every 7:30 a.m., classic Cantonese operas will be played via campus broadcast. Additionally, there is a special program "Rhymes of Cantonese Operas" scheduled on Wednesday, introducing relevant knowledge.

Remarkably, several institutes and communities, including Chancheng Cultural Center and Tonghua Community (Cantonese Opera Group) have provided inspired ideas in the program. Additionally, excellent actors from Foshan Cantonese Opera Theatre will regularly perform in school, providing the chance for students to physically experience the art.

Incorporate various features to promote culture

The first 8 recognized schools in Chancheng District have their own distinct features, whether from the plan, facilities introduced, teacher resources or practical appliance.

For instance, Lanshi Primary School has piled on Cantonese opera to enhance the aesthetic education and cultural development in school. Based on the theme of "Colourful Rhymes of Cantonese Opera", Lanshi Primary School have established customized courses and activities to broadcast the stories of Cantonese opera, eventually promoting this Lingnan culture.
