On March 30, the passenger ship departed from Port of Shunde and sailed to the terminal in China Hong Kong City, Hong Kong SAR. After over three years, Port of Shunde has finally resumed operation, providing one more option for transportation in the Greater Bay Area.

Many citizens also came to Port of Shunde to take a boat to Hong Kong. Ms. He, a passenger, said, “I’m excited! Customs has finally reopened. For people who often travel between Shunde and Hong Kong like me, it will be more convenient.” The customs site was crowded but orderly that passengers could finish customs clearance in less than 10 minutes.

As the only first-class cross-border port in Foshan, Port of Shunde has always been an important option for citizens from Shunde and surrounding areas to travel to Hong Kong for many years. To ensure the smooth resumption of the Shunde-Hong Kong waterway, Foshan Customs has actively carried out relative preparatory work.

Ding Yuanlin, director of the travel Inspection Department of the Foshan Customs Shunde Office, said that the customs will continue to deepen cooperation with local departments, improve the emergency response mechanism for public health issues, promote the joint prevention mechanism, and jointly build a solid quarantine at port.

The customs also reminds all inbound and outbound passengers that citizens should fill in the health declaration card in advance. All prohibited items should be removed.
