On December 27, after completing nearly 14 hours of continuous concrete soil pouring, the project construction made phased progress.

The project was funded by the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang Railway Company, taked overall responsibility by China Railway Design Group EPC, and constructed by the China Railway Seventh Bureau. The airport section of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang high-speed Railway spans the Songlong River Bridge, taking up a remarkable length of 8.9 kilometers, thus it was regarded as the most extensive airport segment.

In order to ensure the successful concrete pouring of block 0, the construction unit optimized the concrete construction pouring scheme to ensure the orderly and controllable pouring construction. The completion of the pouring of block 0 of the continuous beam ensured the important node of the construction period. Besides, the project construction entered a new stage, and also laid a good foundation for the subsequent construction.

Guangzhou-Zhanjiang high-speed railway is an important part of the 350km/h coastal passenger transport link in China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. In addition, it is also the largest high-speed railway project invested in Guangdong Province in recent years. With a total length of 400.111 km, the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang Line leads from Guangzhou Railway Station, passes through Foshan, Zhaoqing, Yunfu, Yangjiang, Maoming, Zhanjiang and other cities, and ends at Zhanjiangbei Railway Station.

The Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-speed railway will become an important part of the high-speed railway corridor connecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Hainan Free Trade Port and Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration. In a word, it can actualize the 90-minute mutual access from the central city of Guangzhou to the central city of Zhanjiang, which is of great significance to improving the regional economic status of western Guangdong and promoting the overall economic and social development of Western Guangdong.
