Carlsberg Foshan Brewery Set to Launch in Sanshui with 500,000kL Annual Capacity

On March 6, the construction at the Carlsberg Foshan Brewery project is in full swing in the Foshan Shuidu Beverage and Food Industry Park. The brewery, aiming for operation in the second quarter of this year, is poised to significantly enhance production capabilities.


Carlsberg Foshan Brewery, anticipated to be the 27th brewery for Carlsberg in China, is on track to achieve an annual production capacity of 500,000 kiloliters. With an estimated annual output value of around 2 billion CNY, the brewery will primarily cater to the South China market, contributing to Sanshui's ambition of developing a billion-dollar food and beverage industry cluster.



Projected to Commence Operations in Q2 with a Total Investment of 3 Billion CNY


At the brewery, workers are engaged in both outdoor groundwork and indoor installations. According to Zhong Xin, the project manager, the brewery, initiated construction during the Spring Festival and is expected to commence operations in the second quarter of this year. With an annual capacity of 500,000 kiloliters and an output value of approximately 2 billion CNY, the brewery will not only serve the Guangdong market but also extend its reach to neighboring regions in South China, meeting diverse consumer demands for premium beer in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.



Carlsberg Foshan Brewery, which broke ground in 2022 with additional investments, boasts a total investment of 3 billion CNY, including fixed assets worth 1.5 billion CNY. It stands as Carlsberg Group's most technologically advanced flagship brewery globally, setting benchmarks in technological standards, intelligent manufacturing, and ESG practices.


The "Sponge Brewery" is a standout feature of Carlsberg Foshan Brewery, aiming to become the group's first sponge brewery worldwide. Equipped with a rainwater collection and treatment system, the brewery aims to recycle rainwater, conserve freshwater resources, and minimize wastewater discharge. Additionally, the brewery will establish the group's first R&D center outside Europe, focusing on new product development, packaging design, and testing for the Chinese and Asian markets.



Over Ten New Projects Planned for Park with Estimated Added Output Value of 5.5 Billion CNY


Foshan Shuidu Beverage and Food Industry Park, in its 15th year, has attracted over 200 domestic and international renowned food and beverage enterprises like Budweiser and Red Bull. Collaborative efforts aim to solidify the park's position as a hub for food and beverage and healthy living industries.



Sanshui's Xi'nan Street plans to benchmark 3.0-version industrial parks, advancing the expansion and enhancement of the Foshan Shuidu Beverage and Food Industry Park, with efforts such as fostering land utilization, investment attraction, and improvement of supporting facilities.
