In a picturesque scene resembling floating clouds of orchids, the 2024 China (Foshan) Phalaenopsis New Varieties Exhibition and Trade Fair officially kicked off at the Chrysanthemum Bay Agricultural Parkin Lecong, Foshan.
During the opening ceremony, six cooperation agreements worth a whopping 100 million yuan were signed between seed research and development units, production companies, and businesses. Additionally, the Chrysanthemum Bay Agricultural Park struck deals with six export representatives, aiming for an impressive export revenue of 800 million yuan within the year.
Expert speakers also enlightened the audience with talks on orchid breeding techniques, cultivation methods, market trends, and measures for protecting orchid varieties.
The exhibition hall, spanning over 3,000 square meters, showcased over 2,000 butterfly orchid specimens alongside rare orchids and native species, attracting flower enthusiasts from near and far.
In addition to the indoor exhibition showcasing new varieties of butterfly orchids, the event also features activities such as variety promotion and academic exchanges. The exhibition brings together over 500 domestic and international enterprises engaged in brand cultivation, import-export trade, horticulture, and e-commerce. More than 2,000 new varieties of orchids from the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, Southeast Asia, and Europe are also displayed at the event.
Moreover, the event organizer, the Guangdong Shunde Chrysanthemum Bay Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., actively recruited experienced butterfly orchid planting companies and greenhouse construction technology enterprises. The park currently boasts over 600,000 square meters of butterfly orchid greenhouses and more than 100 butterfly orchid plantation owners. With an annual production of approximately 65 million orchids, valued at around 650 million yuan, and over 10 live streaming companies, the park's annual live sales exceed 20 million orchids, with sales revenue surpassing 100 million yuan.
The trade fair, running until April 15th, is expected to generate over 30 million yuan in transactions for plant varieties, seed wholesale, and retail sales during its duration.
