The Shunde Lecong Louvre Dragon Boat Team, representing China, clinched dual victories at the 2024 Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Invitational held from June 15 to 16. The team showcased exceptional skill and determination, outpacing both domestic and international competitors to win the International Open Championship and the International Open Gold Cup.

Dual Championships in 500m Straight Races

The Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Invitational is regarded as one of the premier dragon boat racing events globally. This year's competition featured 17 events. Over two days, more than 170 dragon boat teams from 12 countries and regions participated, with over 4,000 athletes converging at Victoria Harbour. Over 130,000 spectators gathered along the vibrant Tsim Sha Tsui East waterfront. Finally, the Shunde Lecong Louvre Dragon Boat Team emerged victorious in the highly contested International Open Gold Cup race.

Ruo Xuan, a member of the Shunde Lecong Louvre Dragon Boat Team, expressed that, this is not our first international competition, but each time they compete for China, they feel immensely proud, and they wish China continued prosperity and success," said Xuan.
