Martial Arts Masters from the Greater Bay Area Gathered in Nanhai, Foshan

On August 10, the 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Martial Arts Cultural Carnival and Nanhai Martial Arts Competition officially kicked off. A total of 139 teams and nearly 2,000 martial arts enthusiasts gathered in Nanhai for a peak showdown.



Nearly 2,000 Competitors Communicate with Martial Arts



On August 10, the competition was held at Nanhai's Feihong Hall. The competition features three main categories: martial arts routines, fitness qigong, and free combat, with a total of 267 subcategories. Nearly 2,000 participants hail from cities such as Macau, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, and Jiangmen. The oldest competitor is 80 years old, while the youngest is just 4 years old, with even some foreign contestants among them.

Nanhai has become a hub for high-level martial arts events. Starting in 2024, the International Wing Chun Competition will be held in Xiqiao for three consecutive years. Recently, it was officially announced that the 2024 International Wing Chun Competition and the Fifth Foshan Martial Arts Conference will take place in Nanhai. These events are scheduled to be held at Feihong Hall in Xiqiao this October and December, respectively.



As the host of these events, Nanhai focuses on preserving and enhancing its martial arts heritage. Nanhai has long been a place where martial arts thrive, with a strong tradition of practice and a large number of martial arts schools.



The district is home to 238 martial arts schools and more than 60,000 practitioners. By continually exploring the cultural significance and value of local martial arts, Nanhai is committed to promoting the integrated development of martial arts competitions, culture, and tourism, aiming to establish "Nanhai Kung Fu" as a world-class cultural brand.
