The base will be set up at Dragon Boat Square in Foshan New City. It aims to develop a Green Smart Planet industry-academia-research base (sub-base) by utilizing global think tanks from Oxford University/University of Malaya and corporating university training to cultivate economic think tanks, international business, and other talent resources. The base will also provide service windows to assist Chinese companies in collaborating with universities worldwide on industry-academia-research projects.
The Green Smart Planet Project, a major global initiative by Yicheng Group, is headquartered in Malaysia and aims to set industry standards for multinational trade, helping Chinese products expanding international markets. The first phase of the project plans to invest 100 million RMB, including approximately 10 million USD foreign capital, with an anticipated annual revenue exceeding 2 billion RMB.
"We have strong investment confidence in Foshan, and we are willing to lead Foshan's entrepreneurs 'going global' by providing them with better development platforms," said Wang Linda, Chairman of Yihai Group. She noted that Foshan's favorable business environment, solid industrial foundation, and diligent investment promotion staff have strengthened their decision to invest. The project will leverage the company's strengths in information, software, and services, aligning with Foshan's strategic development direction to achieve mutual benefits.
"The establishment of the Green Smart Planet Project will enhance economic and trade cooperation between Foshan enterprises and Malaysia, achieving mutual success for both the project and Foshan," said Ding Xifeng, Standing Committee Member of the Foshan Municipal Committee and Minister of the Foshan United Front Work Department. He introduced Foshan's solid manufacturing base, favorable business environment, and robustly growing strategic emerging industries. He also stated that Foshan would provide the best support to expedite the project and help Foshan manufacturing reach a global scale.
