On August 22, Olympic gold medalist Chen Qingchen visited Foshan after her victorious run at the Paris Olympics. She participated in a series of public events, connecting with fans, young athletes, and exploring the city's rich cultural heritage.

Chen's first stop was the Foshan Sports School, where she was greeted with enthusiasm by students and faculty. During the visit, Chen shared words of encouragement with the young athletes, writing, "Persevere and surpass yourself." She urged them to remain focused on their dreams and continue striving for excellence in their chosen sport of badminton.

Following the school visit, Chen took the opportunity to explore iconic Foshan landmarks like the Ancestral Temple and Lingnan Tiandi. She watched traditional lion dance and immersed herself in the city's deep cultural roots, experiencing the architecture and traditions of Lingnan culture.

Chen Qingchen's journey from a badminton enthusiast to an Olympic champion began early. Born in 1997, she discovered her passion for the sport as a child. In 2004, she was spotted by a coach and began formal training. By 2005, she had moved from her hometown to Shunde Sports School in Foshan, a key milestone in her career. Her relentless determination and skill soon led her to join the Guangdong provincial team in 2008, marking the start of her ascent to the national team.

Chen's victory in Paris, where she and her partner Jia Yifan claimed gold in women's doubles, was a significant achievement. Not only did it redeem their near-miss in Tokyo, but it also brought home Foshan's first-ever Olympic gold medal, a moment of pride and celebration for the entire city.
