On March 13, the 2025 China Medical Equipment Conference and Medical Equipment Exhibition opened in Chongqing. Organized by the Foshan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (FHIDZ) and the Foshan Construction & Development Group Co., Ltd., the event showcased Foshan's thriving medical and health industry and its growing influence in southern China.

With the industry's total output exceeding 100 billion yuan in 2024, Foshan is leveraging its strong manufacturing base to build itself into a key hub for the medical and health sector in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Among the highlights is the Foshan Yundonghai Medical and Health Industrial Park, the region's only medical zone with over 10,000 mu of planned industrial land. With its unique advantages, the park is accelerating Foshan's progress toward becoming a national center for the health industry.

Cutting-edge Innovations Impress the Industry

At the Foshan Yundonghai Medical and Health Industrial Park exhibition area, designed around the concept of "Integration of Production, Life, and Ecology," a rich display combining multimedia, physical products, and detailed plans drew considerable attention. The exhibition presented key achievements in dental equipment, smart rehabilitation, and cryopreservation technologies to industry professionals.

One eye-catching innovation came from Guangdong JINME Medical Technology Co., Ltd., whose dental micro-power system attracted many professionals. The system eliminates traditional infection risks associated with dental chairs and has been adopted by nearly 400 public hospitals and over 1,000 private clinics. "We use sterile saline instead of water to avoid infection, and a motor-driven system instead of pneumatic drive, which reduces complications like subcutaneous emphysema," said Jiang Guoshun, Brand Manager at JINME. "It's compact, electricity-powered, and suitable for a wide range of scenarios."

Another star at the booth was an intelligent mobility scooter by Guangdong Coagent Intelli-go Technology Co., Ltd., featuring anti-rollover gravity sensing, 4G communication, and real-time camera monitoring. "It allows caregivers to track users and respond to emergencies in real time," said Li Peichang, Business Development Manager. "Foshan's health industry is very forward-looking. We look forward to cooperating with local companies to bring advanced medical equipment to the southwest."

Perhaps the most futuristic exhibit came from Saveel Biotech (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., which debuted the world's first commercial vitrification technology for deep cryopreservation of biological tissue and organs. "We've developed a fully integrated solution of reagents, equipment, and protocols," said Deputy General Manager Zheng Huan. "As a startup spun out of the Jihua Laboratory, this exhibition is our first major commercial appearance in 2025, and thanks to the government support, we hope to make a strong market entry this year."

Building a Leading Industrial Hub

As visitors explored innovative products, many also turned their attention to the Foshan Yundonghai Medical and Health Industrial Park. Since its launch in 2021, the park has been built around the "Three-Life Integration" concept (production, living, ecology), and the synergy of industrial, innovation, and supply chains. Its layout focuses on the "three pillar" of medicine: pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and testing services.

Jointly developed by the provincial, municipal, and district governments, the park is constructed and managed directly by FHIDZ, with operations handled by the city-owned Foshan Construction & Development Group. Key infrastructure projects, including an Innovation Center, Public Service Center, Community Center, and the Yunhai Healthcare Complex, have been completed.

In early 2025, two key provincial platforms officially opened in the park: the Foshan Workstation of the Guangdong Drug Administration's Certification and Evaluation Center and the Foshan Laboratory of the Guangdong Institute for Medical Device Testing. These will provide solid technical support for Foshan's pharmaceutical development.

Liu Xuezhen, Deputy General Manager of Foshan Construction Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd., noted that the park now offers comprehensive supporting facilities—including roads, utilities, wastewater treatment, standardized factories, R&D centers, and shared laboratories. In 2025, at least five new key projects and supporting infrastructure initiatives will break ground.

"Our goal is to showcase Foshan's strengths in the medical and health sector and help more enterprises see the potential of this land of innovation," said Liu.

Promoting a Forward-looking Urban Image

The park's participation in the national-level exhibition not only demonstrated Foshan's industrial capabilities but also elevated its image as a city pushing toward a biopharmaceutical future.

In an era of rapid global transformation, the health industry has become a key battleground for regional development. Recognizing this strategic opportunity, Foshan is building the Northern Foshan Strategic Emerging Industry Park, with the Foshan Yundonghai Medical and Health Industrial Park as its core area. The fact that FHIDZ now directly manages the park underscores the city's strong commitment to the sector.

Foshan's industrial strength lays the foundation. The city ranks fourth nationwide in industrial output, with two industrial clusters each surpassing 1 trillion yuan and ten exceeding 100 billion yuan. Over 90% of its major industries have full local supply chains. FHIDZ alone hosts more than 10,000 manufacturing enterprises, contributing half of Foshan's advanced manufacturing output.

However, Foshan is equally focused on soft services. It has launched bold business environment reforms, including the country's first service-focused regulation for market entities. One-stop services are available for top enterprises, and FHIDZ even has a dedicated Enterprise Services Bureau to support businesses through every stage of development.

Foshan Yundonghai Medical and Health Industrial Park offers a four-in-one investment service system—combining capital, policy, market, and finance support. Incentives include up to 100 million yuan for new drug development, 30 million yuan for platform construction, and 10 million yuan for the production and market launch of Class II and Class III medical devices.

Through this group appearance at the 2025 Medical Equipment Exhibition, Foshan Yundonghai Medical and Health Industrial Park not only attracted the attention of industry insiders but also reinforced Foshan's identity as a high-potential, innovation-driven industrial city. The blueprint is clear, and the future is already unfolding.

With strong foundations and strategic foresight, Foshan's Yundonghai Medical and Health Industrial Park is set to welcome more partners in its journey toward becoming a national center for biopharmaceutical innovation.
